Have you always wanted to make a movie? Do
you own a video camera but don't know how to make the most of
it? Have you ever wanted to create a compelling story about
your travels and the fascinating people you meet? Films are
one of the most powerful tools for self-expression and education.
They help us learn about people and cultures different from
our own. They can inspire compassion, build bridges between
people and bring about positive change. Filmmaking can be a
way to explore and understand the worlds around us and within
us.
Open Eye Pictures, in association with renowned Windsor Mountain
International launched an innovative program in the summer of
2004 to expand the cultural, creative and technological horizons
for young people. In this unique new program, you’ll learn
the nuts and bolts of how to make a documentary from Emmy-nominated
filmmaker Andy Abrahams Wilson.
This hands-on workshop will teach you how to use your mini DV
digital camera to explore the island and the people who live
there; and then edit this material into a short film while learning
about yourself and others. No video experience is necessary.
